Password-less login is a means of simple authentication without relying on passwords or any memorised phrases.
It’s achieved by verifying the possession of a unique digital entity/factor of the user (an email or a phone number), where either magic links or OTPs are sent, upon successful verification, confirms the user’s identity and is logged in.
Some other unique entities include biometrics like fingerprint or facial recognition, one-time passwords (OTPs) sent via email or SMS, hardware tokens, or authentication through social media accounts.
At Lnk8, we use OTPs through email to verify and login to the user. The OTPs expire after 5 minutes adding on to additional security. Your session will be active for 30 days on that browser after a successful login.
